Finally...

An "A-"?  I got an A-?

I felt my throat catch. I got an A- on a paper. Maybe I'm not the most horrible writer ever.

Now, if I can only remember this tomorrow.

Isaiah 40 "Sonneted"

What image might I find to compare God?
Might I choose the flower-soaked months of spring,
Or winding rose-fenced paths where men do trod,
Or a sweet voice, lifted, yearning to sing?
What might I find to resemble Our Lord?
A rich man's idol placed high on a stand,
Bought and made with gold, all his could afford;
His to dust, pray to, and blessings demand?
"Who is my equal," asks the Holy One?
It's he calls out and names the stary-host,
The One who rescues all, forgetting none;
A great God of whom his people might boast.
So long as he gives strength to me, increase;
So long as I let live let me decrease.

"DROP"

It
fell
a medley
of suffocating,
salt-saturated remorse,
tickling through his whiskers
in a single microgram of weight.
Then, it hung from his chin.
But before gravity won,
another fell.
Two.

Worshipful Irritations

Those love lifted limbs
do not know
the depths of Him,
who, upon seeing
their self-indulgent tears
must turn to the angels
and beg them to strike
the "worshipping" humans.

Two Sentence Mimic

Thomas Timothy Burgandy's pet chicken had been roasting for about half an hour when he came in inquiring as to its whereabouts and the cook named Rita Bloomer, who had only been with the family for three days, listened with her head bent over the stove and stiring the pot of chicken soup which consisted of pet chicken Skully's recently deceased and completely featherless body, all while adding bits of turnip and enough chicken broth to disguise whatever remaining flavors or tastes or traits of Skully remained. You see, Skully had come by around two, and when he returned at three Rita invited back to dinner at four.

Clearing

A clear-coated glassy eyed surface
Meets a skin-bladed reflection;
A torrent of red rain.
Its been a long time
Since this coming calm came.

Under black lids, like broken
Blue bottles, calm
Comes crying unexpectedly.
Its been a long time.
Days and decades finally flowing

Over rims of stone
Down soft starry skin
Pool into puddles at the
Feet of death where hanging
Limbs tear tears from my eyes.
